Slot

The HTML element slot is one of the core building blocks of the Web Components technology suite. Its name attributes and global attribute names can be used to set up different DOM trees for different components. The default slot has the name data, and the v-slot uses the alias #header=”data” for its header. A default slot requires the name “data”, which means it must have an attribute with the same name as the scoped one.

The word “slot” comes from the late 14c., and originally referred to a hollow in the throat above the breastbone. The word “slot” was derived from the Old French esclot, which has an uncertain origin. Another possible synonym is “slod,” which is from the Old Norse language. Its use in phrases goes back as far as the 1520s, but the meaning of “slot machine” is not until the 1880s.

The word “slot” has two distinct meanings in hockey. It can mean two different areas of the rink. One is the low slot, which is directly in front of the goaltender and between the faceoff circles. The other is the high slot, which is in the middle of the ice above the faceoff circles. A slot may also be called a scoring area. If it is used as a verb, it can be shortened to sleutana.

There are several types of slots. Some are built-in, while others are custom-built. Built-in slots map to number, quantity, and duration values. You can also define your own custom slot types. One example is location, which marks a specific location in an utterance. There are hundreds of other types of slots available, and it’s easy to get lost in the muddle. There’s a good chance that you’ve heard of one or two that aren’t used.
